Our Impactful Projects

Ladies First is a transformative organization dedicated to the empowerment and enrichment of Black Girls. Our mission is to foster an engaging, supportive community where Black girls and young women from all cultural backgrounds can explore their identities, aspirations, and strengths. We are excited to present three unique partnership opportunities designed to support our community's growth and success.

The Black Girl Hair Project

Learning Statement:

Girls will leave empowered, confident in embracing their natural hair, and equipped with an understanding of the unique care and practices needed to maintain its beauty and health.

Resource & Product Partnerships

  • Hair Care Companies/Local Stylists: Provide age-appropriate, culturally relevant products (combs, brushes, hair ties, moisturizers, detanglers) for the gift baskets.
     

Educational & Creative Partnerships

  • Authors/Bookstores: Partner with publishers or local bookstores to provide copies of Hair Love and similar titles for classrooms.
     

Sponsorship & Funding

  • Corporate Social Responsibility Programs: Pitch to companies invested in wellness, or youth empowerment to sponsor baskets, materials, or stipends for facilitators.
     

Parent & Family Engagement

  • Family Nights: Host a follow-up “Hair Love Family Event” where parents and guardians join to learn about hair care, share stories, and celebrate their children’s self-portraits.

The Black Girl College Prep Bootcamp

Objective: To equip Black girl seniors with the tools, resources, and knowledge necessary for college

success, including scholarship resources, essay writing workshops, and college application support.

Opportunity for Partners:

 

Scholarship Funding: Contribute by offering financial support for college-bound Black girls.

 

Workshop Hosting: Lead sessions on college readiness topics, financial literacy, and career planning, positioning your organization as a thought leader in education and community support.

 

Resource Contribution: Provide materials, services, or expertise to support the bootcamp’s mission, from essay writing guides to college application fee waivers.
